Low Level Laser Therapy

Low level laser — also called cold laser or photobiomodulation — delivers light to tissue without heat. It is painless, non-invasive, and woven through most of the clinic’s work.

Low level laser therapy supplies energy to the body as non-thermal photons of light, in the red and near-infrared range — the wavelengths that penetrate tissue most deeply. Unlike surgical or cosmetic lasers, it does not cut, heat or damage tissue; the "cold" in cold laser is the point.

At the cellular level, the light is absorbed by chromophores in the mitochondria, and this absorption is associated with changes in cellular energy production and signalling — the mechanism described in more detail on the photobiomodulation page.

Where it appears in the clinic

The laser is Kylie's most-used piece of technology, appearing within:

  • Lymphatic treatments — applied over lymph node groups to support clearing, and showered over affected areas within lymphoedema and decongestive sessions.
  • Tissue recovery — over soft tissue injuries, post-operative sites and areas of persistent discomfort.
  • Skin treatments — the facial protocols described under Skin Health.
  • Scar work — over scar tissue and fibrosis across a course of sessions.
  • Training recovery — pre- and post-event sessions for athletes.

What treatment feels like

You feel the device or pads resting against your skin — and that is all. No heat, no sound, no vibration, no downtime. Sessions are commonly experienced as relaxing; in the facial protocols, most patients drift off.

Training

Kylie is a certified Cold Laser Specialist with device training from Multi Radiance (2014, 2015) and Raincorp (2015), and more than a decade of clinical use across lymphatic, recovery and skin applications. Laser work is delivered within standard treatment sessions, guided by the plan from your Initial Assessment.
